Communication is a very important key in relationships. Think about it, even if a person does not have the ability to verbally speak, there is Sign Language to aide in communication!! Sign Language was created before texting & any other tech stuff was created to help speak for those who can not.
The song written by Paul Simon, "The Sound of Silence", has a verse in it that real drives home what is happening with communication today,
".....Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share....". People want to be heard but are not listening to each other. People are so bent on being heard & being right, people are stop listening to what the other person is saying. When the ears & hearts of the people close, communication dies.
Without communication there is no forward motion in relationships or the world! To be in communication with each other does not mean you have to agree with everything the other person is saying, thinking or feeling. Just hear them out. They might surprise ya with something. Who knows what they are saying just might help out with what you are saying.
I pray for better communication in your relationships & through out the world.

Unconditional Love
Unconditional love, what is it? Do you give unconditional love? Does your love have strings attached to it?
How do you know you have unconditional love? The love you have, do you have to do anything for it? Does anyone have to do anything for you for your love?
What is the meaning of unconditional love?
If you have to do anything to receive love or if anyone has to do anything to receive love from you, that's not unconditional love. Unconditional love just flows from you & excepts nothing in return. It's a pure love.
Pure love that flows from you to all people no matter the color, gender, age, behavior (doesn't mean you agree with the behavior, just that you still love the person), or anything else that makes up people.
Unconditional love does not stop because we can not see eye to eye on the same subject matter. It's ok to disagree & still get along, "The root of unconditional love is understanding and forgiveness", (https://www.quora.com/What-are-some-examples-of-unconditional-love). Another example is found in the Bible, Jesus. Jesus gave unconditional love to every person in every town.
I pray that you have unconditional love & it flows through you freely!

How do you know you have unconditional love? The love you have, do you have to do anything for it? Does anyone have to do anything for you for your love?
Unconditional love is known as affection without any limitations, or love without conditions. This term is sometimes associated with other terms such as true altruism or complete love.

Solace
Solace is define as:
Where do you find solace? Where does your peace come from? With the Holiday season coming up fast, what is your solace?
Here's a song from Living Color called "Solace of You" https://youtu.be/vIUke0CCvDs
In the Bible, Kings James Verse, speaks of solace in only one verse, it's
"Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves."
So God wants us to take solace with each other.

Gracious
To be gracious, what does that mean? Can it be taught/learned? Are some just born with it? We all want others to be gracious towards our self, are we gracious to others? Is it a level of maturity?
This word gracious started me to think about what it meant. Do I have a complete understanding of what the word means? I thought I did. But as I dug around looking at what that word meant, I was surprised. Made me start to wonder if anyone really knows what the word means. I think we have a small understanding of what it means.
As I dug, looking into the the meaning of this word, I found 4 different meanings to it. I was surprised by this. First surprise was that the Christian culture has a different meaning to it than the rest of the world. Second surprise is that the rest of the world had 3 descriptions of the word. Finding this out makes it clear why there is so much dysfunction in communication with each other in this world. If everyone has different meanings to what words are, how can anyone understand what the other is saying???!!! Ok, rant done, back to the post.
I would like to encourage you to do your own digging of gracious & what it means. Then see which definition you want to live by & then line yourself up to that. Also next time you & another person might disagree on something or even start to communicate with each, think about it, are you speaking the same language??

Hole
Let's imagine when we are born we all start at zero or a flat line. As we grow, learn different things & our parents pour into us life giving lessons that will make us into the adults we are today. That would be an upper-ward climb on the hill of life & who we are or zero starts becoming positive growing numbers.
Sometimes we don't get what we need at different stages in life & that would make a deposit in the negative or make a hole in us. Life comes with different problems for us to face & that can make more of a hole in us or help us climb the hill of life.
If you are taught to give & not receive or to put others first & not to tend to yourself, that could add to the negative or the hole. If you have relationships that you are life giving & not receiving life back, that feeds the negative/hole. How can we stop feeding the negative, stop digging the hole?
Some of us don't realize we are standing in the negative or a hole, because that is where you have been all your life. Some may see their in the hole but don't know how to get out. It can feel like waves crashing on us repeatedly & you can not get firm footing to stand to move.
If you are in a hole & want out, contact me, I can help point you out of the hole.

Offense
This post will not have a beautiful picture of nature. This post is addressing the pattern that has happened since Religion has began.
You read your Bible, go to church, have your Bible Study groups & volunteer your time at a soup kitchen, food pantry or thrift shop. You may even have the desire to go out into the community or other places in the world to spread the knowledge of who God is. Okay, stop right there. All that stuff is wonderful, not knocking any of those actions there. None of it is wrong. But if you go out into the community or the world to spread God's word or get others to turn from their wicked ways & come to the good side, then look at them & be offend of what they do, say or believe, just stop. Go back home & read up on how Jesus interacted with people. Jesus did not look down on the people. He came for them to know His Father & His Fathers love. He did not reject them because they did not live a perfect life.
If you are going out spreading the Word but are looking down on the people you are "helping". Just stop!! No one is receiving God's love from you. You actions are to make you feel good & you to build up yourself, that's not God's Word. That's you using God's Word for your own purpose.
Instead study how Jesus walked out His days going town to town. He came to show God's love & who His Father is. Not to build followers. Jesus did not go town to town looking for needy people to "help" so He would feel good about what He is doing or to feel good about Himself. It was never about Him. It was all about His Father & His Fathers love for each person in each town.
If you go out to build yourself up, your building your kingdom not God's Kingdom. If you are doing this & want to stop & need some help stopping the pattern, contact me.

Journey vs Path
Journey vs Path.... what is the difference between them? They do sound like they would be the same thing. Everyone has been on/going on/ is on a journey. We all have been on/going on/ is on a path.
The difference between both is that one is wide open & the other is more structured. How do you tell the difference on which one you are on?
Journey is to see if you have the heart to do more than the bare minimum. Journey is something you are on to see if you will make choices to go further. A journey is a passage from place to another.
A path is marked out already, a way that is formed by repeated footsteps. A path has been traveled before by someone or by you, a track constructed for a use. You still make choices, but you can see a pathway after your choice.
We all go down both during our lives. Where are you now, journey or path? If you need help with either one, contact me.

True You
The true you.........do you even know that person or did you get buried or not even found? Are you living with what you think you would like to be? Are you just a shell & are empty on the inside? Do you lack confidence to be you? Were you told not to be who you are?
Not knowing who we are can leave us with a lack of confidence & a ton of questions & may lead us down the wrong path in life, when all you are trying to do is just fit in somewhere.
Once you are walking in your true self & knowing who you are, you will have more self confidence. Being in-line with your true self can give you a new flow with life. Even relationships will be different. Life in general will look & be different. You may even feel free. When we are not walking in our true self, it can feel like we are being oppressed, a heavy burden is keeping us locked down.
I would love to help you find your true self.

Music
Music can create feelings/emotions/bring back memories/be a building spot for memories/bring you to worship/give words when you had none. Music is a very powerful thing. It can bring to peace or rise you to war. What does music do for you?
We all have that song or a couple that speaks to us, move us, help us find words, brought us to tears, or help us express how we feel towards one another. Music can be a powerful tool.
With all the different styles, bands, "old school" vs new, etc., there is something for everyone. This is not about religious music verse worldly music, or what is better than another. But let's look at the emotions/feelings/thoughts/words that you are having that is stirred up from the music. What is locked down deep with in us? Music can be a key to those things. Don't be scared not everything deep down in us is "bad".
Sometimes ourselves are locked deep down. Are you in touch with yourself, true self? Do you know your true self? Have you been ever told not to be yourself or let anyone know who you are truly?
If you are not your true self & like to be, I can help.

Communicate
Are you having problem communicating with any one or everyone? No matter how hard you try it just is not working & is adding to a bigger problem? The problem could be girl vs boy language or something else. Do you know how to tell the difference? How do you fix the problem?
Communication is a skill that can be learned at any age, not everyone knows of the skills, or they only know part & some do know all of the skills. No matter where you fit in that, communication can be tricky when trying to communicate with others, whom may be at different levels of communication.
Do you know how to keep communication going when you & the other person don't see eye to eye on a subject matter, when emotions tend to be high or you don't care for what is being talked about? How do you keep communication going?
To communicate is to get someone to understand what you are thinking & feeling. To communicate is not to get them to go a long with whatever you are thinking & feeling, but to understand where you are coming from & they are doing the same with you.
Remember your opinion/thought/feelings/emotions are all yours & not everyone else. We can all have our own & still be able to communicate with each other & not have relationship break downs.
Communication works best when everyone is not over flowing with their emotions. All of the relationship wiring in your head needs to be up & running. Our emotions, when over flowing, can get in the way of this.
If you like to learn about better communication, contact me.

Fall Colors
Fall colors are a time of change. Spring & Summer are over, growth of plants stop or slow down. Some people start to fall into seasonal depression. Some get ready for the winter fun times. What do you do in the fall? Do you go on color tours with family & friends? Hit the cider mill? Confirm your Holiday plans with family, friends or your job? Get your household & cars are for winter? Do you doing nothing different? Do you live in the north & head south, run from the snow & cold? Make plans for next Summer?
How do you handle change? Sometimes we need help handling different changes in life. Some of us can jump from one to the other with ease. But there is some who it takes time & can not be rushed. It's all ok. Each person is created different. The ones who can jump into to change with no problem, must not rush those who need time.

Thanksgiving
This post is short one, but it gives lots to think about.
Thanksgiving is not
celebrate around the world. That was
news to the kids. With the info why,
they got it. It is an American
"holiday". It started them
to think deeper on what would be different if the events of separation from Great Britain did not happen.
Freedom of religion
would not be for starters & the Fourth of July would not even be on the
calendar. Thanksgiving dinner not
happening either. So how would your life
be different? What impact would it have
on your life? Does it make your list to
be thankful for even longer? Did ours. Yes, we are grateful for all that we have
& all who are in our lives. But the
stuff like freedom of religion, freedom from a lot of things & the rights
we have as a free country, you can't touch the gratitude we have for it all.

Rahab
Rahab was labeled as a prostitute, some say she was not a prostitute but an innkeeper, single business woman & some even say she was an ancestor to Jesus. This is not a debate on any of that. You can do your own digging on that & make your own opinion on that.
Rahab was a Canaanite woman, that lived in the city wall in Jericho. The Book of Joshua tells the story about her. Canaanites practiced many things that did not line u with God. God was sending Joshua & an army to Jericho. Joshua sent 2 spies to the city to look it over.
The stories of what God did in Egypt & through the desert the people of Jericho heard & were very afraid. The Canaanites did not believe in God, they had their own beliefs. But the believed what was told to them on what had happen.
When the King of Jericho heard about the spies staying at Rahab's, he sent messengers to Rahab. The King wanted the men to be brought out. Rahab hid the spies, told the messengers that they missed the spies & they went out of the city & she gave false directions to them.
Rahab went to the 2 spies & plead for her life & her families life for helping the spies. The spies agreed to show her & her family kindly & faithful when the Lord gives them the land. Rahab helped them out of the city & told them which way to go to avoid the ones who are pursing them.
Rahab, Canaanite woman, had her own beliefs, religion & rituals that she & her family followed. The only time she heard of God is the stories from Egypt, she did not know of God's law or love. But when she heard of the stories what God could do, she was in fear of God & believed in His power. Rahab believed in God without knowing Him. Rahab moved on faith that she need to plea for herself & her family lives.
God remembered Rahab for for faith & not her profession. God often uses people with simple faith to accomplish His great purpose. No matter your past, God is not holding you down because of it. Don't let your past stop you now. God can & will use you in His perfect plans. Rahab didn't let her past stop her from being apart of God's plan.

Making Sure
Now we got the Elementary Principles, we know what the next step is, let's make sure we are headed in the right direction & how can we tell we are headed in the right direction. In 2 Peter 1:3-12 helps us with that.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=2+peter+1%3A3-12&version=NIV
Step 1: we need to have knowledge of Jesus Christ who has called us to his own glory & excellence
Step 2: After step one, we can then be partakers of the divine nature. This really points out that it is not "our call" or "our mission", but we are joining Jesus in his. For it is all for the glory of God.
Step 3: We are to continue to added to our faith goodness, from goodness knowledge & to knowledge ,self-control, from self-control, perseverance, from perseverance, godliness & to godliness, mutual affection & from mutual affection , love.
Step 4: Be firmly established in truth.
Possessing these qualities in increasing the measure of them, these qualities will keep you from being ineffective & unproductive in your knowledge of Jesus Christ.

After the Elementary Princples
After the elementary principles we need to move to the next step. What does the next step look like?
In 1 Peter 4:7-11 gives us what the next step looks like.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+peter+4%3A7-11&version=NIV
Step 1: self-control & sober-minded, for the sake of your prayers.
Step 2: keep loving one another, love covers a multitude of sins.
Step 3: show hospitality to one another without grumbling,
hospitality with a joyful heart.
Step 4: each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, not to build self up.
Step 5: May God be glorified through all that you do.
These look like simple steps. So why are so many missing it? It could have been many were stuck at the Elementary Principles & did not know there is a next step. I hope this help shed more light on it.

Christians are Stuck
Christians need to know the elementary principles which are covered in 1Timothy 5:21 &
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+timothy+5%3A21&version=NIV
then move to be mature Christians as it speaks about in Hebrew 5:12. Christians are to do that
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Hebrews+5%3A12&version=NIV
till the day Jesus returns as in Revelation or they die. Keeping what God command us to do,
Matthew 22:37-40.
https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+22%3A37-40&version=NIV
The elementary principles are the foundation to being a Christian. We are to learn them & then build from there & grow to maturity. Most Christians know the elementary principles that 1 Timothy 5:21 covers. But that is where most Christians get stuck at that level. We are called to grow to maturity & to help others. How do we grow, if we don't know we are stuck? Or do you know you are stuck & want to grow to maturity & don't know how?
Christians are humans & can become comfortable & move towards convenient. Instead of facing growth & moving towards maturity & helping others. Some of what holds you back is how you are brought up. We learn from our parents & the family around us. They teach us our values/morals/principles. That is our foundation. Our parents sculpt the way we think.
Our parents want what is best for us. We have to be careful not to move towards stuff that is convenient & comfortable. That's where we can get stuck. If you are stuck how do you get unstuck & move towards maturity?
We are not to move away from the elementary principles, but grow from there. In Hebrews 6:1-6 lays it out for us.
Hebrews 6:1-6 (NIV)
"Therefore let us move beyond the elementary teachings about Christ and be taken forward to maturity, not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death, and of faith in God, instruction about cleansing rites, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. And God permitting, we will do so.
It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age and who have fallen away, to be brought back to repentance. To their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace." We as Christians need to dig deeper to grow deeper to be able to mature as Christians. We sometimes loose track of the digging deeper to mature & get stuck at the elementary principles.
Are you ready to move towards maturity?

Priority, what are yours?
Priority, what are yours? Do you have a list of them? Are they in order? Here's a definition from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary,https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/priority,
Definition of priority
priorities
- 1a (1) : the quality or state of being prior (2) : precedence in date or position of publication —used of taxab (1) : superiority in rank, position, or privilege (2) : legal precedence in exercise of rights over the same subject matter
- 2 : a preferential rating; especially : one that allocates rights to goods and services usually in limited supply that project has top priority
- 3 : something given or meriting attention before competing alternatives
In Luke 10:38-42, shows two different people with two different priorities. Which one are you?
Luke 10:38-42New International Version (NIV)
At the Home of Martha and Mary
" As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Mary is choosing better things. Martha is wrapped up in deeds & works. Martha is forgetting what is truly important. Her priority is not set right.
In Proverbs 3:6 tells us to turn everything to God.
Proverbs 3:6New International Version (NIV)
" in all your ways submit to him,and he will make your paths straight."
One reason why we do not turn everything over to God, is our insecurities. Our insecurities leads to a lack of trust, which stands in the way of God & us. When we have our priorities in the right order things move with a flow. The running to put out all the fires that pop up all the time & you can't get anything done or think straight will stop.

Edge of the Storm Part 3
In part 1 & 2, I wrote about gaze a little & trust. In part 3 I'm going to be touching base on gaze & walking in peace.
What to have your gaze on while walking in peace? In Genesis 43, Joseph was living in Egypt away from his family. He was working for the Pharaoh. Joseph went through a lot different storms to get to the place he was at. He was in charge of the food storage. Joseph's family came to Egypt looking for food since their home land was having a famine. In verses 23 Joseph was greeting his brothers.
Genesis 43:23 King James Version (KJV)
" And he said, Peace be to you, fear not: your God, and the God of your father, hath given you treasure in your sacks: I had your money. And he brought Simeon out unto them."The peace that he is referring to means burdens. His family hit hard times. God had a master plan that lead up to this point in time. At this point, Joseph had food to share with his family so they would not go hungry. Joseph had to go through a bunch of different storms to get that point in time.
For Joseph to get through all the storms, he had to keep his gaze locked on God & trust that God had a plan for him & all that he needed was taken care of. Joseph was faced with chances to let his peace go. Joseph kept his gaze on God, kept his peace & feared not. Joseph only had God & himself during his storms.

Something Blocking You?
Have any goals in life & having problems reaching them?
Is there something always blocking you? Do you feel like you keep hitting the ceiling & can not get pass it, no matter what you try or do?
Sometimes there can be something holding us back or blocking us that we had no idea that could. It could be something in our own thinking or something else?
When we know there is something we need to be doing but are unable to move forward to do it, can be very frustrating. The blocks can be caused by our own thinking, word vows from the past, principles of life not being applied or something else.
