Adam & Eve
Most of us know the story of Adam & Eve. For those who don't, it's in the Bible in Genesis. I have read this many times myself & have had many discussions with other people about it. I have missed or over looked a simple but powerful verse. I came across the verse while looking into another subject but the two go together. As I dug for wisdom & knowledge on the subject matter, I was lead to start sharing what I found. I understand that this may upset/offend some or even many. But before you decide not to read anymore or give me a piece of your mind, read it to the end & read all of it. Keep in mind there will be many posts on this load subject. Let's start!!!!!!
The verse that was brought to new light to me was Genesis 3:16. It's the curse Eve received from God, that was brought on my her own choices. The first curse is "increased pain in childbearing, with pain you will give birth to children." The second curse is "your desire will be for your husband & he will rule over you".
In Genesis God gave dominion over the earth & everything in it to Adam. God also made Eve as a help meet for Adam, Genesis 2:18. Make notice it is meet & not mate. Other post will talk about that in the near future.
Eve was created to be an equal with Adam. Because of her choices God then placed Adam above her. Some may say she was misled by the serpent, that was Eve's plea to God too. Eve also informed the serpent what God said about the fruit from the trees in the garden. The rules were clear when she made her choice to eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the garden. Adam was aware of the rule also & he made his choice to take the fruit from Eve.
With the choice that was made by Eve, God placed Adam as the head in their marriage, making them no longer equals. Yes, at one point in time man & women were 100% equal. With Adam now the head of the relationship with Eve, he does not have the right to have her be abused in any way. She is still the gift from God to be his Help Meet. That is still the same.
Being the head has lots of responsibilities, it's not a free pass to rule over everything & do what you want to make yourself happy. God made Adam to take care the earth & everything in it. Eve fits in that too. Adam is to take care of Eve.
Eve is to submit herself to Adam now. There's the other word that causes a lot of feathers to be ruffled. Submit!!!! Yes, I said it. Submit has had a lot of negative attached to it. I will have a near future post on that.
I want to encourage everyone to do their own digging on these subject matters. Don't just take my word for it. Happy Digging!!!!

Priority, what are yours?
Priority, what are yours? Do you have a list of them? Are they in order? Here's a definition from the Merriam-Webster Dictionary,https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/priority,
Definition of priority
priorities
- 1a (1) : the quality or state of being prior (2) : precedence in date or position of publication —used of taxab (1) : superiority in rank, position, or privilege (2) : legal precedence in exercise of rights over the same subject matter
- 2 : a preferential rating; especially : one that allocates rights to goods and services usually in limited supply that project has top priority
- 3 : something given or meriting attention before competing alternatives
In Luke 10:38-42, shows two different people with two different priorities. Which one are you?
Luke 10:38-42New International Version (NIV)
At the Home of Martha and Mary
" As Jesus and his disciples were on their way, he came to a village where a woman named Martha opened her home to him. She had a sister called Mary, who sat at the Lord’s feet listening to what he said. But Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. She came to him and asked, “Lord, don’t you care that my sister has left me to do the work by myself? Tell her to help me!”“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her.”
Mary is choosing better things. Martha is wrapped up in deeds & works. Martha is forgetting what is truly important. Her priority is not set right.
In Proverbs 3:6 tells us to turn everything to God.
Proverbs 3:6New International Version (NIV)
" in all your ways submit to him,and he will make your paths straight."
One reason why we do not turn everything over to God, is our insecurities. Our insecurities leads to a lack of trust, which stands in the way of God & us. When we have our priorities in the right order things move with a flow. The running to put out all the fires that pop up all the time & you can't get anything done or think straight will stop.

Edge of the Storm Part 4
What do you do when see a storm coming towards you? Do you run? Check the paths that lay before you? Ready yourself for a fight? Or do you go above the storm & ride it?
How do yo make your choices? Do you look at facts? Go on emotions to maker your choices? Listen to others or do what others would like? Take time to think over everything? Or freeze up because you are afraid to make the wrong choice?

TBI Part 4
Living with someone who has a TBI may not be the easiest. You see the same person that you knew before the life changing event, but they are not the same person or will ever be that same person. How do you move forward with that?
It's like the picture at the top, same body of water, but one side is very choppy & rough & the other is claim & peaceful. The only thing that is making it different is a breaker wall. That is a poor example of what life is like with living with a person with a TBI. Please don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing anyone here. Just sharing what life is like.
At times you can say it is like being married to a stranger. After 20 years of marriage & that is not including the time dating, then one day everything changes as you know it. How do you move forward in a relationship?
In everyday life, I as the spouse of a TBI have the same responsibilities as before the event that is not including the load I picked up after the event. You might be thinking, but isn't that what marriage is? You help each other out in tough times. Yes, you do. It's not about helping each other through the tough times. When the person you grew to know know over the years, now has changed on the inside how do you move forward? Changed even with their likes & dislikes of food. Not saying run for the hills.
After a TBI it can change the goals & dreams you both shared & looked forward to before the TBI. It may take some time to dream new dreams & goals. During the time of laying down the old dreams & goals can be very painful. Having a good support group around you will help. How do you move forward?
Moving forward is not easy. You pick to move forward with the person everyday. You make the choice to fight to stay together. It could have been very easy to run for the hills at times, but easy is not always what you want in the end. Having a good support group helps.
Having a good support group is not just family & friends. But having someone who has walked & is walking through the same stuff you are dealing with. I go with my husband to his group therapy every week. I have learned more about TBI there than on the internet, books or doctors. Getting around people & talking about what is going on, what works & what does not work helps. Knowing you are not by yourself helps.

Sovereign
In Daniel 4:25 it states that God, Most High, is sovereign over all kingdoms. Have you ever just stop & think about what that means? How many times have we just took the face value of the words?
Daniel 4:25 New International Version (NIV)
" You will be driven away from people and will live with the wild animals; you will eat grass like the ox and be drenched with the dew of heaven. Seven times will pass by for you until you acknowledge that the Most High is sovereign over all kingdoms on earth and gives them to anyone he wishes."Sovereign is unlimited!! God is unlimited over all the kingdoms on earth & gives them to anyone he (God) wishes. Why do we still try to do everything ourselves? We are not sovereign. We have limits. We are not all powerful. Why do we keep trying to rule everything?
It may be time to rethink how we are thinking who is in charge. We get free choice, free will to pick what we want. Even with all of our freedom God is still sovereign, we are not.

Edge of the Storm Part 3
In part 1 & 2, I wrote about gaze a little & trust. In part 3 I'm going to be touching base on gaze & walking in peace.
What to have your gaze on while walking in peace? In Genesis 43, Joseph was living in Egypt away from his family. He was working for the Pharaoh. Joseph went through a lot different storms to get to the place he was at. He was in charge of the food storage. Joseph's family came to Egypt looking for food since their home land was having a famine. In verses 23 Joseph was greeting his brothers.
Genesis 43:23 King James Version (KJV)
" And he said, Peace be to you, fear not: your God, and the God of your father, hath given you treasure in your sacks: I had your money. And he brought Simeon out unto them."The peace that he is referring to means burdens. His family hit hard times. God had a master plan that lead up to this point in time. At this point, Joseph had food to share with his family so they would not go hungry. Joseph had to go through a bunch of different storms to get that point in time.
For Joseph to get through all the storms, he had to keep his gaze locked on God & trust that God had a plan for him & all that he needed was taken care of. Joseph was faced with chances to let his peace go. Joseph kept his gaze on God, kept his peace & feared not. Joseph only had God & himself during his storms.

Routine Health Check Up
After a routine health check up, I got the call. They want to run more tests cause the found 2.2cm of something & not sure what it is. And from now on, I'll have to get a yearly mammogram. When you receive basic information with little to no details what is going on with your body, is very frustrating.
What do you do? Little or no information to know what is going on with your body. It's a huge waiting game till more tests can be ran. Then you can feel like a guinea pig. Plus all the different emotions that come flooding in. Your head can start to spin. This a good time to stop, take a great big breathe & relax. No matter what the test results are, you gotta look at all the emotions that are flooding you.
The emotions can be overwhelming. But once you face them & deal with them, the rest will fall in to place. I had a great support group. My family & friends gathered around me, prayed for me & went with me to appointments. No reason to face any problem by yourself.
After one test for me, everything came back to be nothing. Yes, nothing!! Very relieved & grateful, prayers worked. I can look forward to my once a year mammogram. Even though there was nothing found after farther looking, I still get the once a year mammogram.
Who do you have in your support group?
