10 Commandments (Exodus 20:3-17)/Jesus said

Here's what the Old Testament gave us to follow & what the New Testament said for us to follow.  It's the same.  I state this since I have heard people say what's in the Old Testament does not apply to us today.  That is  wrong.  The New Testament does not say we can drop what was told in the Old Testament but the New Testament reconfirms it.

Exodus 20:3 "You shall have no other gods before Me."

Matthew 4:10 "Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written:" Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only."

Exodus 20:4-6 "You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sins of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, but showing love to thousands generations of those who love me and keep my commandments."

Luke 16:13 "No servant can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money."

Exodus 20:7 "You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name."

Matthew 5:33-37 "Again, you have heard that it was said to the people long ago, "Do not break your oath, but keep the oaths you have made to the Lord. But I tell you, Do not swear at all; either by heaven, for it is God's throne; or by the earth, for it is his footstool; or by Jerusalem, for it is the Great King. And do not swear by your own head, for you cannot make even one hair white or black. Simply let your Yes be Yes and your No, No; anything beyond this comes from evil one."

Exodus 20:8-11 "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but on the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your manservant or maidservant, nor your animals, nor the alien within your gates. For the six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy."

Mark 2:27-28 "Then he said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.  So the Son Of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath."

Exodus 20:12 " Honor your father and mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.

Luke 2:51-52 "Then he went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But his mother treasured all of these things  in her heart.  And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.

Exodus 20:13 "You shall not murder."

Matthew 5:21 "You have heard that it was said to the people long ago, "Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgement."

Exodus 20:14 "You shall not commit adultery."

Matthew 5:27-28 "You have heard what was said, "Do not commit adultery." But I tell you that anyone who looks at another woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

Exodus 20:15 "You shall not steal."

Luke 12:15 "Then he said to them," Watch out! Be on your guard against greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."

Exodus 20:16 "You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor."

Matthew 12:36-37 "But I tell you that men will have to give account on the day of judgement for every careless word they have spoken. For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned."

Exodus 20:17 "You shall not covet your neighbor's house, You shall not covet your neighbor's wife, or his manservant or maidservant, his ox or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor."

Luke 12:15 " Then he said to them, "Watch out! Be on your guard against greed; a man's life does not consist in the abundance of his possessions."
