TBI: After the Court Date

I'll try not to depress anyone, I'm sharing the details that followed my husbands court date after he won his disability hearing.   To get even that point it took him over 3 years & numerous doctor appointments, test & paperwork.   The 3 years leading up to that point were no cake walk.  But we made it.

After going before the judge of SSD (Social Security Disability) & having him rule that my husband will receive  SSD & back pay for the 3 years he was unable to work.  We thought & felt relief that finally our lives will out of the waiting period & we can move forward & it is all be hind us.  We can now fully focus on what our future will look like.

It's been over 6 months from the judges ruling.   Yes, he is receiving his monthly, but has not received his back pay.   Each time he calls the SSD office he gets  new excuse & run around answers & little information on what is going on.   He was even told that his money was going to be released to him a month ago & was not sure why it was not.  They sent a message to the office that deals with that & are waiting to hear back.  That means we wait more too!

Another month pasted, husband called again.   He received a line of excuses of why he did not have his back pay.   They now are saying there is 5 to 6 issues.  What are the issues was asked!!  More excuses were offered.  They were asked who is going to be held accountable for this, their reply was no one & he can contact his Congressman about it & the government is in a  shut down & to call them at the end of the month.

I went on the hunt for what it looks like to contact our Congressman about this.   What I found out was not comforting.  The Congressman would look into it & that is about it.  Does not mean that the Congressman would hold them accountable,  just that they will be looking into why the delay.

After yet another call to SSD, to see if any answers would be had or the back pay would be released, we got more of the same nothing.  Then with more of a push they gave the number to the processing center.  The processing center is what is holding the money & the answers.   They would not even talk to my husband or I (his Representative) but only the to the lawyer that helped us on the case.  Ok, we called the lawyer.  The following week we had the back pay.

Hope you take from this that never stop fighting!!  Yeah, it can be exhausting but worth it!!!

Clothes

How do you pick your clothes?  Is it a style, color, texture & print?   Or is it all of that?   Do you have tons of clothes & nothing to wear?   Do your clothes make you feel like on top of the world, full of energy?

Or do your clothes do not line up with your personality & drag you down?   How can you line your personality & your clothes together?

What color are you drawn to & you come a live in?   What style of clothes do you feel that you come alive in?  What do you dislike/feels like your energy just gets sucked out of you?

Don't just look at your clothes but your shoes/make-up/hair do & jewelry.   If you need help with getting to know who you are contact me.

Marriage, The Wife's Part

Wives are you happy with your marriage?   Does it need to be improvements in area's?  This is not about changing what the hubby is doing.   Just let that go.   Let's look at what we are doing as wives & address that.    Let's jump on in to some things to get us thinking what can we do different.  I hope the picture helps you relax as you jump in.

We will be looking at sowing & reaping.  To sow is to put in & to reap is was you get from after you have sown.  Very simple principle that can do great things.    You are doing the sowing & the reaping, not lets see what I can get my hubby to do different.   Ladies, leave the poor guy a lone.   He's got guy stuff to do.

Look at what you want to have done different, is it more date nights with your hubby, more quality time with him at home, more communication with him or do you feel your not on the same page as him & want to change that?   Whatever your goal is, let's look at what you are doing now that is not getting the results that you want & stop doing them.   Let's look on how you can sow better things to reap better fruit.  When we are applying the sowing & reaping principle, do not look for the fast change. Some times it might take a season or so to get the fruit.   Have patience with yourself & what you are doing.

Let's look at ourselves some more.  Are you taking care of you?  Eating healthy, exercises, getting out with the lady friends, building into the the family relationships outside of you & him & each other's friends?  Remember the times of dating each other & talking about it!!  Drop old issues, holding on to past pain & rough times kills the future joy.  How many nice loving words have you said towards him in a day?  Holding hands much?  Are you showing him respect?  Have you said thank you to him today?   Stop picking out ever little thing he does that is making you crazy!!  Doing that is killing your relationship.  You would not like it if the shoe was on the other foot.

If you would like more help with this, please contact me.  Blessings on your path for a stronger, healthier marriage!!
